How can Black artists break through barriers in a system "designed to be exclusionary"?
In this edition of Academy Dialogues, actor Delroy Lindo (Da 5 Bloods), filmmaker Gina Prince-Bythewood (The Old Guard), and Oscar-winning filmmaker T.J. Martin (LA92), go into "how Black artists break through barriers and truly realise the power and meaning behind the saying, 'We are the culture. Nothing moves without us.'
They also discuss The Academy’s Black membership as well as finding success "in a system that was designed to be exclusionary".
The Focus will be sharing some of the Academy Dialogues panels to foster conversations around diversity and inclusion within the visual effects industry.
